ADSL2+
As part of Manx-Telecom’s Next-Generation network initiative they have deployed ADSL2+ and RE-ADSL2 compatible equipment around the Isle of Man.
The ADSL2+ roll out has now been completed and is available in all areas around the Island.
ADSL2+
ASDL2+ can offer
- Download speeds up to 16Mbps (compared to the existing 8Mbps)
- Upload speeds up to 832Kbps (compared to the existing 256Kbps)
RE-ADSL2 (Reach Extended ADSL)
Reach Extended ADSL increases the effective range of ADSL meaning broadband service is available on much longer lines. The other benefit
of READSL is broadband speeds may increase for those customers already on longer lines.
Important notes
Like the current broadband service, ADSL2+ is ultimately dependant on your line-length and line-conditions – your broadband speed
will adopt to these conditions. Customers need to make sure their router is compatible with the ADSL2+ standard, all routers supplied by Wi-Manx
are ADSL2+ compatible.
How do I get ADSL2+?
All new ADSL connections will be ADSL2+ enabled by default. If you already have ADSL and want to upgrade, you can for free – please contact our sales team.
