Compared to a 'standard' ADSL connection we aim to make our service superior in a number of ways. Take a look at some of the extra features and services you will get when you have a Broadband connection with Wi-Manx.

ADSL Broadband

ADSL is up to 40x faster than standard dial-up connections. We have fast backbone connections to the internet providing great performance for online gaming, VoIP, web browsing and email.

ADSL is "always-on" and doesn't tie up your phone line. Several PC's can use the same internet connection simultaneously.

Customer Portal

The customer portal allows you to manage your webspace, email accounts, invoices, VoIP Call History and much more. Wi-Manx are constantly looking to improve the service provided, and have a team dedicated to developing new features.

Email

Each customer receives 5 free email accounts. Each mailbox comes with basic anti-virus and anti-spam protection. All email accounts have POP3 and SMTP support so you can use your favourite email client to send email. We also provide access to a WebMail system so you can access your email while on the move.

Internet Phone Calls

Voice Over IP (VoIP) enables you to make phone calls using your broadband internet connection. Our Broadband customers will receive access to our state of the art VoIP network.

All subscribers receive free calls between Wi-Manx users and heavily discounted calls to all other destinations. If you have our Broadband Plus service and subscribe to PlusTalk you will receive free, unlimited phone calls to both UK and Isle of Man landlines.

Calls can be made using a standard VoIP Router or Adapter and a normal phone, or you can opt for a dedicated IP Phone (available from Wi-Manx). You can also make phone calls using a number of free softphones. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

SMS Messaging

Customers now have the ability to send text messages from within the customer portal. Each text message costs 5p and can originate from your current mobile phone number. When someone receives an SMS message that you have sent using our service, the message will appear to have been sent from your current mobile phone. If you do not have a mobile phone, you can still send text messages using this service.

Static IP Addresses

Static IP addresses are available free of charge to Home Broadband customers (Broadband Plus). You can reserve a static IP address from within the customer portal.

Webmail

The secure webmail interface enables you to send and receive emails via a web browser from any internet connection. Webmail is a useful tool if you want to check your email while at work or on the move. Our webmail service is secured using SSL Encryption for extra piece of mind.

Webspace

Users of our broadband service will have 100mb of personal web-space to host their own websites, photos and more.
