Broadband price reductions
Wi-Manx are pleased to announce a reduction in the cost of our residential broadband products. This is to continue with our goal of increasing ADSL uptake on the Island whilst lowering the cost of broadband and telecoms.

8Mbps ADSL Migration
Manx Telecom are currently in the process of upgrading all their exchanges to support 8Mbps ADSL. All Wi-Manx customers will automatically benefit from this upgrade as and when the necessary exchanges are upgraded.
Manx Telecom haven't issued a firm upgrade schedule although customers will be notified by way of a Public Notice in the local papers. Wi-Manx will also inform customers with service bulletins and news articles on our website.

Broadband Lite 'Cap' increased from 4GB to 6GB
Wi-Manx have increased the monthly usage cap on our Broadband Lite service from 4GB to 6GB (50% more) for free. All existing Broadband Lite customers will benefit from this change immediately.

A first for Wi-Manx and the Isle of Man
Wi-Manx has scored a first for the Isle of Man and the UK by becoming the first commercial licensed wireless broadband network provider to operate using WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) compliant equipment. WiMAX is a standards-based wireless technology providing high-speed internet connections over long distances.

Wi-Manx now stock the Siemens Gigaset C460IP DECT IP Phone
Wi-Manx are pleased to announce that we now sell the Siemens Dual mode DECT/IP cordless phone for use with their SIP service. We have tested the phone extensively with our network behind a variety of routers and the system works flawlessly. The C460 offers a high quality alternative to traditional VoIP ATAs and is also a fully featured colour DECT phone. More information about the C460 can be found below.

Customers now have the facility to send text messages using the customer portal. Each SMS costs 5p and can be made to originate from your current mobile phone number (following successful activation). Users can access the SMS functionality from within the Customer Portal.
