What Is the Telecom Connection Voucher Scheme?
As an Isle of Man telecoms provider, we’re delighted that the Department of Economic Development has launched the Telecom Connection Voucher Scheme to support new export earning sector businesses.
Designed to assist with the cost of connection and first year broadband or leased-line rentals, the scheme provides eligible business with an endowment of £500.
The launch of the scheme follows a recent review of the Island’s telecoms infrastructure, with the scheme being designed to add to the wider package of support and financial assistance available to people looking to start a business on the Isle of Man.
Laurence Skelly MHK, Minister for the Department of Economic Development, said:
“The Telecom Connection Voucher Scheme offers a further benefit for local entrepreneurs looking to make the first leap in setting up their business on the Island or for existing local businesses starting a new venture. It also gives an extra incentive for off-island businesses looking to set up on the Island and complements the suite of financial assistance schemes that are available through the Department of Economic Development to businesses considering the Isle of Man as their base.
“The TCS is aligned with both the Government’s Digital Strategy and Programme for Government by offering opportunities that will encourage businesses to establish and grow in the Isle of Man. The introduction of this scheme further demonstrates our commitment to creating a supportive and nurturing business environment for local business.”
