Wi-Manx, part of the Elite Group, have announced a further speaker is confirmed for The Isle of Man Tech Summit which will be held later this month. Tony Rowan, Chief Technologist from Exclusive Networks will be presenting a seminar titled ‘It’s Time to Disrupt the Disruptors’ which will summarise the developments in Advanced Threat Protection Technology.
Tony has worked within the security industry for more than twenty years and he has experience in many parts of the supply chain including bespoke software developments, large research projects, security architecture across many enterprise segments and the defence industry.
Exclusive Networks, the cyber security experts, offer their threat protection framework which is widely regarded as the leading network security solution in partnership with Fortinet, the network security specialists.
Tony’s Tech Summit seminar will look at the security implications of workforce mobilisation. Today’s workforce is more mobile than ever before and with this comes more room for exploitation and threats. As mobile and application adoption becomes more widespread, so does the presence of cyber criminals and their ability to exploit mobile access.
Director at Wi-Manx, Kate Hegarty said of the latest announcement:
“We’re honoured to welcome Tony to speak at the Tech Summit because his seminar will explore the types of threats that mobile enterprise workforces face and the detrimental impact they can have. We’ll look at some examples of mobile malware and the tools that can help an organisation contextualise and mitigate these threats.
We’re extremely pleased to offer attendees so many industry leading speakers at one event. The risks being discussed and addressed at the event are relevant to all island businesses so we would encourage IT representatives and senior business decision makers to take advantage of the expertise on offer at the Tech Summit.”
Tony joins a line-up of distinguished speakers including Mark Brown – Executive Director at EY, Dietrich Benjes – VP at Varonis (who is also due to present at IP Expo in October, Europe’s biggest IT event), Jenni Cooper – Senior Manager International Tax at EY with Richard Chapman – Head of Product from The Elite Group finishing proceedings.
Hundreds of people have already registered for the event which will be held on Tuesday 27th October at the Villa Marina from 2pm.
