Work has been continuing at Heywood House – with a focus on the electrical, cooling and fire suppression systems.
We recently took delivery of the first batch of custom server cabinets and high capacity dry-air-coolers.
The server cabinets (and the associated kit) will be formed into uniform ‘pods’ of cabinets. These cabinet pods utilise a highly efficient cold-aisle containment system and are mounted to the raised floor system using an innovate RAFT system developed by Cannon Technologies. Modern cabinet system designs such as these help drive down the PUE value of a datacentre and the innovative nature of the systems introduce many other benefits relating to security and operational efficiency.
The images below show the cabinets in situ – with the cold-aisle containment system yet to be installed. Two of eight N+1 Riello UPS systems can also be seen, which provide battery backup to the IT load – along with some high capacity dry-air-coolers which provide cooling for the IT load within the facility.
